Tradition, Craftsmanship and Passion

What you will find here are not perfectly styled glossy food photos, but genuine glimpses into our kitchen: beef roulades being prepared, pots of slowly simmering vegetable stock that later become the foundation of our sauces, our kitchen team peeling potatoes for our homemade fries, or even a large bowl of homemade ketchup. Yes, we make that ourselves, too.

Of course, our Spätzle (handmade egg dough noodles from our Federal State) and dumplings are homemade as well – just like many other things we serve.

We still place great value on cooking from scratch and making things ourselves. Not because it sounds fashionable, but because we learned the craft and continue to practise it with enthusiasm. Great food begins with great ingredients, and whenever possible, we prefer to source them locally. Quality, freshness, dedication and passion simply have a taste of their own.

Naturally, we also make our Maultaschen (traditional filled pasta from our Baden region) by hand. The vegetarian ones happen to be green – simply so we can tell them apart more easily. And as you can see from the photos, we genuinely enjoy what we do. Our kitchen is colourful, lively and full of character – and we think that is a good thing.

Years ago, this style of cooking would have been called traditional home-style cuisine. Today, we would describe it as fresh regional cooking. Many things have evolved over time, but we have consciously preserved what has always worked well.

We believe that a passion for cooking is not only something you can see on the plate – it is something you can taste as well.
